What you’ll do:
Based in Moro, the Community Development Officer coordinates and supports the day-to-day delivery of Santos Foundation programs across Health, Education, Community Development, and Gender in the Southern Highlands and Gulf Provinces. This is a residential role (not FIFO) with a strong focus on Education programming and regular engagement with local communities and partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning, liaising, coordinating, and mobilising resources to support implementing partners delivering Health, Education, Community Development, and Gender program activities in the Southern Highlands and Gulf Provinces
  • Monitoring Santos Foundation’s support to Literacy Libraries
  • Ensuring Literacy Library activities align with Santos Foundation, Santos, and PNG Government policies, strategies, and plans
  • Engaging with Education sector stakeholders, particularly at the sub-national level, to align Santos Foundation programming
  • Ensuring timely collection, collation, and sharing of activity and partner reports with internal teams and relevant program managers
  • Leading the organisation and facilitation of assessments, including data collection and report preparation, to support the development of new activities in Hela Province
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date filing and records for all Santos Foundation program activities in Hela Province
  • Ensuring compliance with Santos health, safety, environmental, security, and HR policies while sourcing resources or delivering program activities
  • Actively participating in job start meetings, learning sessions, and ongoing self-learning and professional development opportunities
  • Complying with the Santos Management System, Delegation of Authority, and corporate governance and safety requirements

What you’ll bring:
Essential
  • 3–5 years in the development sector, preferably in Health, Education, or Gender programs
  • Proven track record in project and program management, including planning, implementation, and reporting
  • Skilled in partner and stakeholder engagement, including networking, coordination, and relationship building
  • Background in early childhood teaching, assessment, and program management
  • Strong ability to collect, manage, and report program data accurately
  • Hands-on involvement in delivering Health, Education, and Gender programs, particularly in remote communities
  • Solid understanding of Early Childhood Education programs
  • Ideally a Diploma or Degree in Community Development Studies or Social Sciences from a recognised university in Papua New Guinea

  • Collaborative team player, fostering productive teamwork and cooperation
  • Adaptable to new work environments and capable of working long hours under pressure
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognised tertiary institution
