About the Role

Our Cost Controller will play a pivotal role within Drilling and Completion Team, with the primary objective to effectively manage drilling and completions expenditure by implementing stringent controls, continuous monitoring, and proactive adjustments that will ensure maximum efficiency and budget adherence throughout the full project life cycle.

We are looking for an individual with sharp business acumen and a good eye for detail. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of all cost control activities including weekly analysis and reporting on wells executed, cost variance analysis, accruals, trending, ETC/EAC analysis, commitment management, cost pool management and clearing.

As part of the role, you will directly contribute to the maintenance, development and improvement of cost control processes and procedures. This is a great opportunity which will expose you to a complex and fast paced way of working, where no two days are the same. You will enjoy collaboration and interaction with both corporate and operational stakeholders across the business while seeing your work have a direct impact on outcomes. 

Role Responsibilities:

Accountabilities for this position are:
  • Monitoring of compliance between approved schedules of rates and resource cost tracking, with a focus on alignment and improvement; 
  • Providing direct support and administration for the procure to pay process; 
  • Ensuring the integrity of financial data for resources, enabling timely and accurate cost recognition, allocation, and reporting;
  • Ad-hoc analysis (including campaign reviews and performance overviews) and reporting as required for resources;
  • Maintenance, development and improvement of cost control processes and procedures;
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of digital initiatives;
About you

Essential experience required for this position includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or a similar field;
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (advanced excel);
  • Ability to engage in effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Ability to consistently meet timelines and deliver on commitments;
  • Experience in managing and distilling large, complex data sets with a strong attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment; 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment.

Desired experience for this position includes:
  • Experience servicing an execution team in the resources industry would be preferable;
  • Experience using Wellview and SAP would be highly regarded.
