What you’ll do:
This position is responsible for analysing tenure data in the oil and gas industry, optimising workflows, and providing insights to support strategic decisions. The role involves collaboration with teams across exploration, development, legal, and regulatory affairs.

This role is based in Brisbane.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Data Integrity & Governance: Implement best practices for data quality, governance, and security.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present findings and insights to senior leadership and regulatory bodies as needed.
What you’ll bring:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in tenure management or regulatory compliance, and a bachelor’s degree/Certificate Course in data science, Geosciences, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field. Your proficiency in data visualisation tools and excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, along with:
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools.
  • Understanding of tenure regulations, production licensing, and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to manage large datasets and develop automated reporting solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of GIS applications for tenure mapping and spatial analysis.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Basic Understanding of production reporting and reserves/resource tracking.
  • Prior experience working with regulatory authorities and joint venture partners.

Ideally, you will be degree qualified or demonstrate significant training and experience within directly relevant role(s), within large corporate environments.
