About the Role

The Emergency Response Coordinator will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and managing incident and emergency response plans, ensuring Santos is fully prepared and ready to act in the event of an emergency. This is a full-time position based in our Port Moresby office, with occasional travel requirements.

Please note this role may require on-call availability and extended hours in the case of emergencies/incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

Emergency Planning & Preparedness:

Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans, policies, and procedures.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Organize and lead emergency drills and training sessions for staff and stakeholders.
Maintain Incident response room setup and equipment including rosters

Incident/Emergency Response & Coordination:

Serve as the primary point of contact during emergencies, assisting with the coordinating response efforts.
Work collaboratively with first responders, government agencies, and other relevant entities.
Ensure timely communication with stakeholders during Incidents.

Training & Awareness:

Arrange and facilitate training programs to staff on emergency procedures and safety protocols.
Foster a culture of preparedness and resilience across the organization.

Reporting & Compliance:

Maintain accurate records of incidents and response actions.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to emergency management.
Produce post-incident reports and evaluations to improve future response efforts.

About You

Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in emergency planning, disaster response, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of emergency response protocols, risk assessment, and crisis management.
Ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure.
Familiarity with incident command systems (ICS), Australian Incident Management System (AIIMS)), or other relevant frameworks is a plus.
