What you’ll do:
Reporting to the CFO/COO of Santos Foundation, this role will lead all external donor financial reporting. Responsibilities include budget management, cost control, forecasting, audit coordination, and ensuring grant compliance. You will work in close collaboration with and support program managers to implement approved budgets and/or forecasts.

This position is located in Port Moresby.
  
Key accountabilities include:  
  • Deliver all external donor financial reporting and ensure compliance with grant agreements.
  • Represent Santos Foundation in financial report presentations and respond to donor finance queries.
  • Monitor monthly actuals vs. budget/forecast; collaborate with program managers to address variances and reforecast as needed. 
  • Lead quarterly revies of sub-recipient compliance, including audit planning and capacity building.
  • Ensure expenditure, procurement, and documentation comply with grant and internal policies.
  • Manage donor expectations on financial risk, governance, and controls to uphold SF’s reputation. 
  • Review and approve disbursement requests and acquittals, ensuring complete documentation.
  • Develop and support financial planning/reporting models, including sup-recipient reports. 
  • Maintain and reconcile grant accounts monthly (advances, GST, FX, etc.); manage grant cash flow.
  • Oversee asset register development, maintenance, and regular verification of grant-funded assets.
  • Manage preparation and completion of donor program audits per grant requirements.
  • Support process improvement initiatives and assist the CF/O Officer and Finance Services Senior Manager when required. 
  
What you’ll bring:
We are looking for a skilled professional with substantial experience as a Senior Finance Manager, including extensive delivery of finance services. Your ability to work independently, meet deadlines whilst working under pressure, and use initiative is key, along with:
  • Recognised professional qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA)
  • Degree in finance management.
  • Post graduate qualifications in finance management (desirable).
  • Experience in program planning, management, and implementation, including reporting to donors and boards. 
  • Extensive experience in effectively managing program budgets. 
  • Demonstrated experience working as a collaborative team member and leading diverse teams.
