What you’ll do:
Based in Moomba and on a 2 and 2 roster you will utilize your mechanical trade, this position is responsible for maintaining fixed and rotating plant equipment and machinery. It is essential for ensuring the integrity and efficiency of Moomba Plant.

Working under the direction of the Mechanical Supervisor, the incumbent will execute corrective and scheduled work programs in a safe and cost-effective manner

Key accountabilities include: 
  • Maintain effective working relationships with Operations and Engineering
  • Liaise with Maintenance Support and Reliability Engineers to proactively address and resolve reliability issues.
  • Actively participate in the planning and execution of scheduled shutdowns for maintenance.
  • Review and provide constructive feedback on schedule builds to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Drive and monitor the execution of maintenance schedules to achieve 100% compliance with planned activities.
  • Assist in the development and updating of standard operating procedures, ensuring they are current and effective.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain process equipment, focusing on enhancing operating life, preventing damage, and optimizing production.
  • Respond promptly to reports of malfunctioning or critical equipment issues.
  • Perform both planned and breakdown maintenance, along with regular inspections of plant and machinery.
  • Provide on-the-job training to other personnel, mentor apprentices and new starters, and share technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Monitor operations to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
  • Communicate and act on opportunities for improvement across all areas of operations.
  • Proficiently use Santos IT systems required for day-to-day operations
  • Adhere to Reliability Management Plans & Integrity Management Plans. 
  • Respond to emergencies in line with the Emergency Response Plan.
  • Perform all other reasonable duties as requested by Supervisor.

What you’ll bring:

You will be experienced in:
  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Competent use of Information Systems (Computer Software, including Microsoft Office suite)
