Don’t come for an easy career. Stay for a rewarding one.
At Santos, we do work that matters and always have. When you join us, so will you.

As an ASX 20 global energy company, we’re committed to providing reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.

To make it happen, we work as One Team and ask ourselves, “How can we?” (Even when others say, “We can’t.”)
We’re proud of our history as pioneers, problem-solvers, and pragmatists. And as we strive to achieve our Vision2040, we’ve got our sights set on a culture that is focused and disciplined to drive value, and entrepreneurial and energised to leave a positive legacy.

The difference isn’t just thinking big – it’s delivering on it too.

As part of the team, you’ll tackle one of the most complex problems of our time. It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.

What you’ll do
As the Network and Security Architect you will be responsible for the strategic design, standardisation, and security of network and telecommunications infrastructure across Santos's global IT environment.

This role combines enterprise architecture leadership with comprehensive cybersecurity oversight, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable network services that align with business requirements and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Design and standardise network, security, and telecommunications architecture across Santos’s global operations.
  • Develop technology roadmaps and strategic plans for network and security evolution.
  • Ensure services are secure, reliable, and aligned with IS strategy and regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across network, cloud, and security projects.
  • Oversee vendor partnerships, service delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor in risk assessments, architecture reviews, and security incident responses.

What you’ll bring
  • 8+ years’ experience in Enterprise Network Architecture & Design, including deployments in remote and isolated operations.
  • 5+ years’ expertise in Network Security across complex, large-scale environments.
  • Proven success in global implementations and cloud networking (AWS and/or Azure).
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing vendor-delivered services with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Technical leadership experience in guiding teams and influencing stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with ITSM methodologies (ITIL, Agile, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Relevant degree qualifications and/or industry certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, HPe, AWS, Microsoft highly regarded).

What you’ll get
Here, you’ll be amongst high-caliber people and get to work on industry-leading projects. We don’t shy away from solving tough problems at pace. We like it that way. You can expect to be challenged and supported; to learn and grow.

At Santos, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. This means a place that is safe; where you are valued and respected, and your contribution is recognised and appreciated. Join us, and you’ll play a role in this too.

Each of our sites offer access to specific amenities that aim to create the best possible benefits to your health, wellbeing and performance.

What you’re part of
Everywhere you turn you will be a part of a team who are coming together to contribute to our single uniting purpose - to provide reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone

And because it’s not only what you do, but how you do it, you will also contribute to improving the living standards of the communities where we operate, building enduring and respectful relationships that serve a generation. It’s about each of us, and all of us – together.
