Description & Requirements

Don’t come for an easy career. Stay for a rewarding one.
At Santos, we do work that matters and always have. When you join us, so will you.

As an ASX 20 global energy company, we’re committed to providing reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.

To make it happen, we work as One Team and ask ourselves, “How can we?” (Even when others say, “We can’t.”)

We’re proud of our history as pioneers, problem-solvers, and pragmatists. And as we strive to achieve our Vision2040, we’ve got our sights set on a culture that is focussed and disciplined to drive value, and entrepreneurial and energised to leave a positive legacy.

The difference isn’t just thinking big – it’s delivering on it too.

As part of the team, you’ll tackle one of the most complex problems of our time. It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.

What you’ll do:
Based in Adelaide, you will lead the delivery of Santos’ HR applications, ensuring they are secure, reliable and performing to agreed service levels. You will own IS service contracts with key SAP HR service providers and application suppliers, holding partners accountable to critical KPIs and service measures.

As the primary escalation point between the business, IS and third-party vendors, you will proactively manage issues to prevent service degradation. Working closely with Santos business areas and IS service towers, you will ensure HR systems continue to meet operational needs while evolving in line with changing business requirements and technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply strong analytical and commercial thinking to develop, advise and deliver HR application service plans aligned to Santos’ strategy.
  • Ensure all regulatory, safety, licensing, security, EHS and corporate governance requirements are met by Santos and non-Santos staff, proactively mitigating risk.
  • Champion change and foster a performance culture across team members and third-party managed service providers.
  • Ensure IS HR service applications are maintained and delivered effectively across on-premises, co-location and (X)aaS environments.
  • Manage IS HR service contracts and third-party vendors to ensure secure, reliable services that meet agreed KPIs, service levels and deliver maximum value for Santos.
  • Oversee budgets for IS HR application platforms, ensuring cost transparency and delivery of cost reduction, optimisation and value creation initiatives including software “true-ups”.
  • Ensure appropriate software, licensing, hardware and vendor support are available, compliant and budgeted for.
  • Monitor service delivery performance, incidents and enhancements using ITIL processes, driving continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Engage and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, IS service towers and external partners to ensure services evolve in line with business requirements and technology strategy.
  • Comply with the Santos Management System (SMS), Delegation of Authority (DOA), and corporate governance and safety requirements.

What you’ll bring:
  • Proven experience with HR, Payroll and Timesheet systems, including associated business processes.
  • Hands on- experience supporting SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll) and SAP ERP Timesheeting is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to deliver application implementation, ongoing maintenance, and integration of HR and Payroll systems.
  • Strong track record managing vendors, multiple concurrent projects, and BAU service activities, including establishing and managing IS contracts to ensure delivery of agreed service levels.
  • Excellent stakeholder and customer management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across the business.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining IS strategy and roadmap for HR systems.
  • Familiarity with financial and cost management systems to support service delivery and optimisation.

Qualifications
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work/industry experience.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and make informed decisions on the best course of action.

What you’ll get
Here, you’ll be amongst high-calibre people and get to work on industry-leading projects. We don’t shy away from solving tough problems at pace. We like it that way. You can expect to be challenged and supported; to learn and grow.

At Santos, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. This means a place that is safe; where you are valued and respected, and your contribution is recognised and appreciated. Join us, and you’ll play a role in this too.
