What you’ll do:
Based in Port Moresby, the JV Accountant – Oil will prepare Joint Venture billings for operated license areas, including Development Operations and Exploration, manage and coordinate the monthly cash calling process, and perform related analyses to ensure all information complies with Joint Venture Operating Agreements.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare Joint Venture Billing (JVB) statements for all operated assets
  • Facilitate and manage the cash call process, including analysis and reconciliation of cash statements
  • Perform month-end support tasks, including manual cost allocations (Gobe Common WC, KPS Capex, Gobe Main LNG Sharing), PCO calculations, and other ad hoc cost adjustment journals
  • Track JVB queries and coordinate responses with the Finance Team
  • Perform General Ledger account reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS), Delegation of Authority (DOA), and Corporate Governance and Safety requirements

What you’ll bring:
Essential
  • Bring proven experience in joint venture accounting
  • Leverage broad experience in accounting within a large organisation
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
  • Manage emails effectively using Microsoft Outlook
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Joint Venture partners
  • Prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in business (Accountancy, Finance, Management, or related discipline
  • Possess CPA PNG qualification or be actively working towards completion
  • Experience in SAP Financial Accounting Systems would be ideal
