Description & Requirements

Don’t come for an easy career. Stay for a rewarding one.
At Santos, we do work that matters and always have. When you join us, so will you.

As an ASX 20 global energy company, we’re committed to providing reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.

To make it happen, we work as One Team and ask ourselves, “How can we?” (Even when others say, “We can’t.”)
We’re proud of our history as pioneers, problem-solvers, and pragmatists. And as we strive to achieve our Vision2040, we’ve got our sights set on a culture that is focussed and disciplined to drive value, and entrepreneurial and energised to leave a positive legacy.

The difference isn’t just thinking big – it’s delivering on it too.

As part of the team, you’ll tackle one of the most complex problems of our time. It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.

What you’ll do:
In this role, you’ll be responsible for facilitating and managing land access across a variety of CSG projects. Your work will involve negotiating land access agreements, building, and maintaining landholder relationships, and ensuring compliance. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely and respectful access outcomes.

This position is located in Brisbane (frequent travel required).

Key accountabilities include:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate Conduct and Compensation Agreements (CCAs) and other land access documents.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, landholders, and field counterparts.
  • Work closely with internal teams including approvals, environment, cultural heritage, development, and operational teams to support project planning and execution.
  • Represent Santos in negotiations and, where required, participate in dispute resolution or mediation.
  • Ensure all agreements and processes comply with the MERCP Act and adhere strictly to internal policies.

What you’ll bring:
We’re looking for someone with:
  • Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, land access, stakeholder engagement, or rural/agricultural sectors.
  • Strong transferable skills in relationship management, legal or compliance administration, particularly if you’ve worked in high-stakes, people-focused roles.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, especially when reviewing agreements and ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • A proactive, solution-focused mindset, able to anticipate challenges and collaborate effectively to resolve issues.
  • Strong organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple projects, priorities, and systems concurrently.

What you’ll get:
Here, you’ll be amongst high-calibre people and get to work on industry-leading projects. We don’t shy away from solving tough problems at pace. We like it that way. You can expect to be challenged and supported; to learn and grow.

At Santos, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive. This means a place that is safe; where you are valued and respected, and your contribution is recognised and appreciated. Join us, and you’ll play a role in this too.

Each of our sites offer access to specific amenities that aim to create the best possible benefits to your health, wellbeing and performance. In Brisbane this includes Onsite Gym facilities, Onsite GP services and many more employee benefits.

What you’re part of:
Everywhere you turn you will be a part of a team who are coming together to contribute to our single uniting purpose - to provide reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone

And because it’s not only what you do, but how you do it, you will also contribute to improving the living standards of the communities where we operate, building enduring and respectful relationships that serve a generation. It’s about each of us, and all of us – together.

How to Apply:
Applications must be submitted via the online recruitment system before COB 4th August 2025.
