At Santos, we do work that matters and always have. When you join us, so will you.

As an ASX 20 global energy company, we’re committed to providing reliable and affordable energy to help create a better world for everyone.

To make it happen, we work as One Team and ask ourselves, “How can we?” (Even when others say, “We can’t.”)
We’re proud of our history as pioneers, problem-solvers, and pragmatists. And as we strive to achieve our Vision2040, we’ve got our sights set on a culture that is focussed and disciplined to drive value, and entrepreneurial and energised to leave a positive legacy.

The difference isn’t just thinking big – it’s delivering on it too.

As part of the team, you’ll tackle one of the most complex problems of our time. It’s no easy task, but nothing rewarding ever is.

What you’ll do
Based in our Brisbane office, this position will oversee long-term maintenance schedules for key assets within our CSG (Coal Seam Gas) portfolio, specifically at EQD USO and Cooper Basin sites. The role involves aligning maintenance plans with safety standards, resource availability, and operational demands. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to ensure maintenance activities support overall business objectives and production goals.

Your strong expertise in SAP Master Data and scheduling, along with your ability to interpret complex asset data and develop optimised maintenance plans, will be key to your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the EQD USO or Cooper Basin long-range maintenance schedule, looking 1 to 5 years ahead.
  • Build and manage the Maintenance Master Plan, including campaign maintenance coordination.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance, materials, and production teams to optimise scheduling.
  • Maintain SAP Master Data, manage work orders, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Support CAPEX and OPEX budget planning related to maintenance activities.
  • Integrate maintenance schedules with wider business plans, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Champion process improvements and support change management initiatives.
  • Uphold Santos’ safety and environmental standards, proactively managing risk.

What you’ll bring:
Essential
  • Relevant trade qualifications or tertiary education, with a preference for project management expertise.
  • Extensive experience and proven proficiency in SAP Master Data management and long-range scheduling within complex asset environments.
  • Deep understanding of maintenance management systems, particularly CMMS, to drive accurate and efficient planning.
  • Strong track record in planning, scheduling, and delivering maintenance activities that align with operational goals.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across functions.
  • Sharp analytical ability to interpret and apply detailed asset data, ensuring robust and optimised maintenance strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in leading process improvements and managing organisational change.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach, with unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and results.
Desirable
  • Experience in oil and gas or related heavy industry sectors.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
  • Knowledge of safety-critical maintenance procedures and risk mitigation policies.
