What you’ll do:
This role ensures all maintenance on metering and analytical equipment complies with GLNG standards, while performing planned and breakdown tasks to support the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of LNG plant systems. 

This is a 7 on/7 off (days only) role, located on Curtis Island, therefore applicants should reside in/near the Gladstone area.
  
Key accountabilities include:  
  • Maintain and troubleshoot process analysers, subsystems, and instrumentation, with ability to trace PLC, DCS, and SIS software interconnections.
  • Support daily analyser maintenance and assist IE Team Leaders with task execution. 
  • Develop and review maintenance strategies and work instructions for analyser equipment.
  • Coordinate analyser and flowmeter isolations and repairs during shutdowns and RTS activities.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on inlet metering skids and flare flowmeters.
  • Manage MOC for instrumentation installations in hazardous and non-hazardous areas.
  • Maintain analysers and metering systems including fiscal metering, Coriolis meters, gas chromatographs, Wobbe meters, and LNG sampling systems. 
  • Perform safe equipment isolation with minimal plant disruption, ensuring process understanding and correct bypass procedures. 
  • Install and leak test instrument tubing.
  • Collaborate with engineers to resolve technical issues and improve analyser reliability.
  • Contribute to QMI risk management and incident reporting via IRR and Santos systems. 
  • Maintain notifications and work orders, initiate material reservation technical report and time confirmation in SAP CMMS. 
  • Lead Tier 3 rotating equipment campaigns, Return to Plan events, and minimise production impacts. 
  • Actively demonstrates reduced reliance on contractor specialists and Field Service Technicians. 
  • Coach and develop relevant personnel.
  
What you’ll bring:
The successful applicant will be able to identify improvement opportunities, drive innovation, and deliver practical solutions that enhance reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. Your high level of professionalism, integrity and strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting and safety work practices are key, along with:

  • An Australian Electrical licence and Instrumentation Certificate or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain a MSIC Security card (Federal police clearance required).
  • Hydrocarbon Facility (Hazardous Area) operations and maintenance experience.
  • Substantial Permit to Work, Equipment Isolation and JHA experience.
  • Extensive industry experience in oil and gas or petrochemical.
  • Optimised cascade LNG Plant experience. 

Gas Chromatograph and Analyser experience is desirable along with experience in flowmeters and diagnostics, and high level of knowledge of analyser equipment, maintenance systems and methods, including experience in online gas chromatography, moisture, oxygen, and pH testing systems and methods.
