What You’ll do:
Join Santos as an Operator Maintainer – Mechanical, located at Fairview Field on a 2 and 2 roster FIFO from Brisbane.  You’ll play a key role in ensuring the ongoing reliability and safety of our plant and field equipment. In this hands-on position, you’ll be responsible for the safe execution of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, supporting our Operations Teams with your technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete scheduled compliance activities, aiming for >90% completion
  • Demonstrate consistent safety-first behaviour, aligned with the Santos EHS vision and policy
  • Be the point of contact for large jobs looking after a number of contractors
  • Deliver quality work. Getting it right the first time
  • Proactively participate in embedded safety systems and champion improvements in safety culture
  • Execute daily scheduled maintenance safely and on time, with detailed close out reports in our computerised maintenance system
  • Plan and execute emergency and urgent work according to risk ranking protocols
  • Inspect, test, adjust and repair mechanical equipment, meeting all relevant standards and procedures
  • Install mechanical equipment using precision measurement tools, recording accurate data
  • Troubleshoot and resolve faults autonomously, demonstrating high-level fault-finding skills
  • Carry out “Critical Control Verifications” audits on maintenance activities
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance systems and procedures

What  You’ll Bring:
  • Trade-qualified Mechanical professional (Certificate Qualification essential)
  • Significant experience in CSG environments, working with industry standards, systems and tools
  • Hands-on experience with: 
- Caterpillar gas engines, Ariel compressors, Howden screw compressors, Siemens gas turbines & TEG packages
- Rotating Equipment, Reciprocating Engines, Compressors
  • Proficient with computerised E-Permit to work and Maintenance Management Systems
  • Skilled in HYTORQ, bolt stretching and flange management systems
  • Extensive knowledge in risk quantification, assessment and mitigation strategies
  • Experience working in live gas plants highly regarded
