What You'll do:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Operator Maintainer to join the Santos team. Based in Narrabri, this position reports to the Team Leader Narrabri and is responsible for the operation, maintenance and fault finding for all equipment within the operational production area.

This position is required to operate and maintain equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner while using quality systems to eliminate rework and comply with conditions to ensure we maintain a licence to operate.

Please note that Narrabri has a local engagement attached to our licence to Operate, so the successful candidate will need to be either based within a commutable distance of the Narrabri area (within roughly 100km), or be willing to relocate. FIFO / DIDO is not available for this role. 

The team operates a locally based roster pattern of 12 hour days. 
  1. 4 (days) on 5 off
  2. 5 on 4 off 
  3. 5 on 5 off
 Accountabilities are delivered in line with the Santos company values and Santos Management System (SMS).
Key responsibilities of the role include: 
  • Actively adopt and drive safe work practices and procedures in accordance with the Santos Management System (SMS)
  • Upholding and ensuring compliance with EHS standards for performance and behaviour; policies and procedures including; permit to work, hazard identification assessment & control, accident and incident reporting.
  • Carry out routine plant and field duties as specified by the two week schedule and through use of Operator Essential Care, including execution of Reliability Management Plans & Integrity Management Plans.
  • Fault diagnosis and repair of instrument and electrical equipment associated with oil and gas production and processing including control systems, process instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Execute PM strategy & CM breakdown work and troubleshooting activities to optimise equipment availability.
  • Isolate and prepare equipment for maintenance.
  • Perform regular inspections of plant and machinery to ensure safe, reliable production.
  • Maintain a close working relationship and a high level of communication with other operations personnel and production engineering team and build positive relationships for a positive outcome.
  • Participate in planning and execution of scheduled shutdowns.
  • High voltage switching 
  • Issuing High voltage access permits

What You'll bring:
It is essential that the successful candidate holds an Electrician’s Licence and should ideally be a High voltage Operator or Permit Authority. In addition, you will bring a high standard of diagnostic, technical and equipment failure analysis skills. You will also possess experience and expertise in PLC controls, Variable Speed Drives, motor controls, safety systems, power generators and pneumatic and electronic process control instrumentation. We’re seeking a dedicated team player who has a proven proactive and flexible approach along with strong communication skills.
