What you’ll do:
Based in the Santos Brisbane office, this position will develop, recommend, implement, and deliver specialist procurement category plans for the provision of drilling and completions rigs across onshore Australia and PNG.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead, develop, and deliver procurement plans aligned with company strategy, focusing on growth, supply security, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage end-to-end contracting and procurement for a budgeted annual spend.
  • Enhance technical competence by sharing industry and company knowledge to optimise employee performance.
  • Increase stakeholder satisfaction through collaborative engagement and communication.
  • Develop supplier management plans to drive innovation, performance excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively engage with core and strategic market suppliers and lead negotiations for unified outcomes.
  • Promote procurement efficiency and support functional improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to cost reduction and value creation strategies.
  
What you’ll bring: 
The ideal candidate will have senior experience and expert knowledge in Procurement, Category Management and Strategic Sourcing. Your ability to work collaboratively, influence, negotiate and achieve outcomes is essential, along with:
  • Previous experience in oil and gas or similar industry
  • Previous experience in complex portfolios and negotiations in constrained markets
  • Extensive procurement, commercial or operational experience 
  • Prior, demonstrable experience in a supply chain role
  • Degree qualified (Law, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management etc.)
Any experience in drilling and completions, with extensive knowledge of the Australian and PNG rig markets would be looked upon favourably.
