About the Role
Based at the Central Maintenance workshop in Kutubu, this position supports the functions of QA/QC on all our major maintenance activities for our PNG operations. 

This is a FIFO role with 28 days on and 28 days off roster.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Overhaul and repair, test and adjust all mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, safety pressure valves, PSV/TSVs) to satisfy all appropriate governing standards and procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of all mechanical equipment in accordance with the company’s work management processes.
  • Perform machining tasks in accordance with site specifications 
  • Ensure scheduled work is executed safely and on time, with constant reference to work instructions and other execution documents.
  • Ensure emergent and break-in work is planned and executed according to the risk ranking and business priorities.
  • Position and install mechanical equipment, recording test results using precision measurement equipment.
  • Demonstrate high-quality work and knowledge of fault-finding, with the ability to trouble shoot autonomously.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of maintenance systems and procedures
  • Support and provide QA/QC responsibilities during major maintenance activities, as part of the development plans for this role.
  
About You
As an experienced and proactive Rebuild Mechanic, the ideal candidate will be positive and enthusiastic with a team-based mindset. Your excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are key, along with:
  • Experience working in the oil & gas, mining or resources industry within a maintenance rebuild environment
  • Understanding of technical standards and drawings as well as operational requirements within maintenance
  • Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
  • Experience conducting compliance checks and audits (QA/QC)
  • Proficient in SAP and MS Office Suite

To be successful in this role, a Mechanical Trade or Diploma of Engineering, as well as Grade 10 or 12 school certificates are required.
