What you’ll do:

Based in our Brisbane office as part of the Eastern Australia and PNG (EA & PNG) People & Culture Team, the Senior People Business Partner is responsible for planning and implementing a vast array of generalist HR initiatives. This role reports to the General Manager People & Culture (EA & PNG), contributing and adding value to the business in areas of generalist human resource planning and action, supporting change management as well as organisational development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the business to manage and empower employees to implement the business strategy and ensure role accountabilities are clearly communicated and understood
  • Coaching and developing leaders to optimise performance and commitment
  • Ensuring compliance with and adherence to company standards and processes
  • Understanding the workforce planning requirements of the business and contribute to budgeting and approval processes
  • Organisation design and implementation
  • Providing support to ensure the continuous upgrading of capabilities and commitment associated with building a high-performance culture 
  • Driving change programs in line with Santos’ vision, values and commercial imperatives
  • Facilitating the implementation of the annual People & Culture processes with leaders; talent management, performance planning process, performance review, bonus and salary review, and employee development
  • Working with the Corporate People & Culture Centres of Excellence to rollout new or improvement initiatives in these areas
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve team effectiveness, collaboration and  information sharing in order to improve business performance
  • Increasing line managers’ understanding and effectiveness in delivering desired people outcomes via HR policy/process while reducing the need for HR intervention
  • Contributing to the overall leadership and strategic development of the division by providing expertise, advice and recommendations on matters pertaining to the people management of the customer group

What you’ll bring: 

You will need to have extensive experience in a HR generalist delivery role partnering with senior leaders in a medium to large corporate environment. Previous experience in Oil and Gas and/or Resources and/or Construction/Heavy Industry would be an advantage but is not essential.

You will need to demonstrate a collaborative and flexible business approach in working with a broader People & Culture team as well as with your client group and utilise your strong written and verbal communication skills to influence and work effectively with senior leaders and internal/external stakeholders.  

You will ideally have strong data analytics in the area of HR data and systems to help drive better business outcomes.
You enjoy working in a fast paced, complex environment with challenging projects that have significant impact for the business.  

Tertiary qualifications in HR, Psychology, Business, or a related discipline is required.
