About the Role
The primary objective of this position is to be responsible for condition monitoring of numerous types of equipment, recommending corrective action where required and supervising work performed by other on an as required basis. This role is responsible for providing continuous reliability engineering support to the organisation to ensure the ongoing optimisation of the maintenance strategy leading to greater uptime.

The position will be based at Iagifu Ridge on a 4 weeks FIFO roster.
  
Key accountabilities include:  
  • Continuously improve and manage the Condition Monitoring function
  • Facilitate and undertake equipment performance investigations with the aim of optimising cost of operation and uptime.
  • Review and critique condition monitoring survey reports and ensure any corrective work recommended as a result of defects identified during the surveys are raised to appropriate maintenance teams for rectification.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to Turbine Engineers, Maintenance Supervisors and Tradesmen on an as required basis.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis on failures reaching trigger points and on chronic failures.
  • Undertake analysis of equipment performance and maintenance history.  Utilise analysis results to optimise equipment maintenance strategies.
  • Project managing maintenance/reliability continuous improvement projects.
  • Mentoring of graduate/junior engineers
  
About You
Along with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and PNG Institute of Engineers membership, your aptitude for practical work and strong analytical skills are vital for this role. Other required skills include:
  • Experience with condition monitoring on rotating equipment in the oil and gas production / processing industry
  • Sound knowledge of reliability practises and principles; ie, RCM, FMEA, Weibull, etc. as well as experience of RCA concepts and processes
  • Competent in the use of ERPs/CMMSs
  • Good understanding of operation and maintenance of all types of rotating equipment; eg turbines, compressors, motors, pumps and engines.
  • Display a good knowledge of various regulations, codes and standards applicable to rotating equipment.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimum level of supervision.
  • Able to understand, and modify Piping & Instrumentation Drawing and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • VCAT 1 and VCAT 2 certification preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Current drivers licence.
