What you’ll do:

Deliver strategic change in Spatial Services, leading the implementation of a new ArcGIS enterprise solution for Santos within the Eastern Australia & Papua New Guinea Regional Business Unit (EA & PNG RBU). You will take a systematic approach to managing change, aiming for efficient and effective implementation of the system into the business. 

You will manage a team of spatial data professionals to deliver high quality, timely spatial services for stakeholders within the EA & PNG RBU including environmental, cultural heritage, land access, compliance, and civil works teams.

Key accountabilities include:  

  • Spatial Data Leadership: Lead spatial data management across EA & PNG RBU, ensuring efficient handling of databases, applications, and web platforms. Foster internal relationships to broaden data access. 
  • Team Management, Skills Development and Resource Allocation: Clearly communicate team roles and accountabilities. Enhance the organisation’s technical competence and staff development and ensure effective workforce planning and resource deployment. 
  • Operational Excellence: Drive process improvements, resource efficiency, cost-saving and value-creation initiatives.
  • Stakeholder and Compliance Engagement: Engage stakeholders effectively and ensure compliance with key requirements. 
  • Emergency Response Support: Provide spatial services support to ICT/IMT teams, including survey data and formatting guidance. 
  • Quality Assurance and Project Oversight: Maintain quality control of spatial outputs and align projects with strategy and the Santos Management System.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Collaboration: Facilitate information sharing between data managers across business functions. Work to make EA & PNG RBU spatial information accessible across different departments and locations. 
  • Governance: Ensure adherence to Santos standards and contribute to global and regional spatial procedures.
What you’ll bring:

Demonstrated experience in Enterprise Change Management. You will have a passion for managing and leading teams of GIS professionals, and expertise in spatial systems, industry standard spatial databases, integration challenges, best-practice workflows and automation, document management systems and support tools. 

You will have the ability to effectively lead collaboration across the business between stakeholders and GIS SME’s 
  • Degree or equivalent Tertiary qualifications in Geographic Information Systems, Geospatial Science, Geomatics, or similar. 
  • Skills in analysing complex problems, framing options, and presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Demonstrated high degree of experience and relevant certifications with the Esri suite of products.
